Inventor of asynchronous reception of pulse radiolocation signals and Yerevan Singing fountains
Abraham A. Abrahamyan – an Armenian Scientist of Radio-electronics, Еngineer-colonel, Doctor of Technical Sciences (1964), Professor (1965).
His works were devoted to issues of asynchronous reception of pulse radiolocation signals, the theory of high-frequency asynchronous detection and calculation.
Abraham Abrahamyan gathered a team of young specialists, with whom he developed the project of « Singing Fountains », located on the main square of Yerevan (the very first water-musical construction in the USSR). The team worked on the project for nearly three years.
In 1978, Abrahamyan’s team was awarded the State Prize of the Armenian SSR in Science and Technology.
After opening the « Singing Fountains » in 1971, Abrahamyan’s team received various applications from the USSR Republics. With the Armenian Engineers’ direct participation, « Singing » fountains were founded in Batumi, Moscow, Sochi and Kharkov in a few years. There were also applications from France.
In 1976, the « Singing Fountains » working model was presented at an exhibition in Buenos Aires.
